Ikador,
Thanks for posting the link to your VST Hammond VSTi. It is looking
and sounding better than ever. Can you explain more about the
EnergyXP host you mentioned. I tried it in cubase. I found all the
advanced menus and waveform and filter editing screens. Cool. I have
been interested in coding vst plugins and/or vsti's but havent had
time to mess with it, other than the demos from Yvon's samples at
Steinberg, etc. I'd be interested in hearing more from you about it
offline regarding synthedit, the algorithms and models used, etc. if
you have any 'user manual' type of stuff written up.
What is your development plan - shareware? freeware? eventual sale?
(ie. is the source code secret or 'open'?) Everyone on this and the
related lists has their own lists of flaws in existing Hammond clones
and leslie sims, and we are all guilty of saying "why didn't they add
this or that feature...its only a few lines of code!" (famous last
words!) Here would be an opportunity to factor that feedback into a
product in development which can be readily changed, unlike a
hardware based keyboard simulation. I see you have gotten some good
feedback about features (peculiarities of real hammonds) to add in.
I will spend some time with it and see what else I can come up with
for you.
PS. I couldnt get spinbag to work at all in cubase 5 as a VST FX send.
How do you recommend configuring it? Thanks again,
Greg .
