Subject:Re: Spin I and II, H&K, G4
I had a Spin II for a while (as well as a G4 and a Rotosphere). The Rotosphere I took back to the store: The ramp up speed was good, the ramp down speed was good, the fast speed was good, the slow speed was not to my liking (not deep enough). And it was noisy.
The G4 is a great little box, very tweakable (ramp times, peak speed, slow speed, "mic placement", overdrive, balance, etc.); but something about its fast speed was always just a little off to me, but I've got recordings of me playing my old CX3 through it, and it sounds really good right off the board.
The SPIN II didn't sound so great by itself. But once I heard it in context with the rest of the band, I was actually very pleasantly surprised at how good it sounded. It's easy to use: plug your organ into it, and it into the amp, and the AC cord into the wall. Now play! Very cool unit.

I didn't realize until the other day when I read some info on the
Spin II that the internal workings are not the same, no user patches,
not accessible via MIDI like the original Spin (Yes, still my
favorite sim, even though I don't "need" it now). Do some members
have live experience with the Spin II as to ease of use, quality of
sound, tweaks, etc? If anyone wants to take a run at the H&K or Korg
G4, I'd be interested in that also. I know this stuff is in the
archives, but some may have more current hands-on, etc info. The
sound of two different "Leslies" in the mix, as long as there's a
couple of extra amp inputs.. >grin< TIA ~ Walter
