Subject:Re: [organ-ized] MS Pro-145 just gets better
The way I found out about the Black V deflector horn was in
the initial MS-1171 announcement that MS had up before they put up
the "real" MS-1171 web page.
That initial announcement mentioned a Black V horn. So, I called up
John Fisher to talk to him about the MS-1171. During that conversation
I asked him about the Black V horn in the MS-1171. He said that it contain
deflectors
that reduced the high frequency and very closely reproduced the Leslie
horn db/freq curve. Plus, John said it was louder (it is) and smoother than
the White horn in the Pro-145.
So, while I was on vacation I sent in my Pro-145 which needed an adjustment
in the lower rotor motor and had the horn upgraded at that time.
The only reference that I can find on the Motion Sound site currently is on
the
Tech Information page:
Horn driver mods Reduce high frequency (personal preference mod)
response on "white" horns. Not recommended for "black V" deflector horns.
There is no other mention that I can find. But, I can tell you that they are
used
in the MS-1171 and I have one in my Pro-145 and it sounds great!
