Speaking of Spencer Davis Group; I got the CD "I'm a Man" with bonus tracks from Amazon and this CD is a must for all Steve Winwood fans. I had never heard much except the hits and they were a great band. Steve Winwood's playing and singing were outstanding considering his age. The drummer in the band was a real Buddy Rich afficiando and was up there with the great British drummers of the time. What a treat! I bet they were the band to see in the clubs back in the day. Steve and his brother Muff left the band at the height of their success to start Traffic much to Spencer's dismay. Very listenable stuff considering the age of the music. Sounds like Steve was playing a Hammond spinet ( a la "Gimme Some Lovin") and lots of cool piano.

The Jerry Corbetta entry brought to mind a concert I saw featuring
Spencer Davis of `The Spencer Davis Group`. While introducing the
band he introduced his organ player as "playing the greatist sounding
instrument in the world, the Hammond B3 Organ". I thought that was
cool coming from a guitar player.
Just something that came to mind while reading the forum.
