Subject:See 'n Hear Dan Bonow On My XK-3

[Posted to Organ-ized, "Hamster" and CloneWheel lists]

An open invitation to Seattle-area members who might like to see and
hear this XK-3 really put through its paces. Dan is a long-time BC
player and you can expect to hear some serious funky organ
bass, "all the way down," played through my Stooper-Duper 31H®
and
122. I'll be there recording and would love to meet any of you.

Mr. Spot's Chai House (5463 Leary Way NW, 297-2424) on Friday July
30th, 8 to 11 PM, all ages welcome. No cover AFAIK.

Besides Bonow's usual fare of original tunes, patented-strange organ
playing, and operatic soul singing, this will be a historic but
completely unimportant reunion of 3/4 of the old Seattle band
Juggernaut, called "The Juggernaut Trio," to honor their recently-
passed bass player, Butch Snipes, the loony genius who inspired
Hendrix to play his guitar with his teeth and play behind his head.
No lie, I got the book right here what says so. Juggernaut was a
very important band, at the time (1967-1970), of unique players and
original funk/soul/jazz/psychedelia, with amazing four-part
harmonies and chord changes that used to send all the musicians
scurrying home to try to figure them out. The original drummer, Tim
Bonow, is Dan's brother, and Pernell Alexander, the original
guitarist and older cousin of Hendrix', plays gospel-style jazz
chords with tremolo, kind of like Pop Staples on acid. If I were any
of you other organ players, I would not miss this.
