Subject:Re: vk8m followup

Damon,
As I've mentioned in earlier posts, I have a VK-8M and am quite
pleased with it. I owned a VK-7 until a few years back and sold it to
upgrade to a Korg CX-3. I now also own a BX-3. Anyway, to my ears the
VK-8M sounds considerably better than my memory of the VK-7.

As far as the mounting bracket for the VK-8M, I think it is meant to
be installed on top of a drummer's cymbal stand, or something like
that. I opted not to get one of those, because it looked like the
extra stand would take up too much space onstage. I control my VK-8M
from a Roland Fantom, and the unit fits quite nicely on a bare space
to the left of the Fantom's control panel. The VK-8M is just about
the same depth as the Fantom's control panel. I use Velcro to hold it
in place. You might want to take a look at your existing keyboards
and see if there's any flat surface that you could set the VK-8M on.

Good luck!
