Subject:Re: Key5 Availability

It is a shame, because in the case of the Key5, the availability of it to demo would probably send its sales through the roof, at least compared to those w/o that availability. I hope it does well Dave...the V5 was a great instrument and had great tone. If the right people can hear it and talk about it though, you could have another Speakeasy situation on your hands, which would be great!

business. The Key5 will probably never be stocked in music stores for the
same reason the XB-5 wasn't stocked and the new Porta-B won't be stocked.
Few dealers will tie-up that much floor space and cash for such a
specialized product. The big picture is that the clone market is a subset
of a tiny niche called the keyboard market. That's right... We're all part
of a niche of a niche. The days of walking into a music store to hear an
instrument are woefully gone. I guess the only solution is to order an
instrument and try it at home with a money back guaranty like the one
Sweetwater offers.

Key 5 has been available for 2 years" is not the same as: "XYZ Store has
them in stock right now, and ABC Store has one in their showroom." Yes, we
have read Dave's post: the Key5 has been available for quite some time. No
one seems to have an answer to the question "who has them in stock."
Obviously no one has seen one personally outside the NAMM show to play it or
demo it.
