Eminence Beta's will handle more power.. Parts Express online, click
on the brand name Search arrow to select Eminence, scroll down to the
Alpha's and Beta's for info, e-mail 'em for a quote which will be
nicely less than MSRP. Beta 12"s were $56 when I bought a pair a
little more than a year ago, Beta-A (8 ohms) 10"s might be less.
Motion Sound bumped up some of their keyboard amps to Eminence Beta
woofers after initial production runs. These will handle 250 watts
versus the Alpha's 150 watt rating, which gives you some "headroom"
for high volume. The frequency range of the Beta 10's is 50-4000Hz vs
the Alpha's 45-5000Hz: Low end negligible audible difference, better
bass midrange response. IMO "killer" horns in the KP amps should more
than compensate for any loss of woofer "top", so I think you'd get
the best of both. YMMV, link to speaker below. Walter
