Subject:XK-3 - My first "loud" gig with it.

Since I got my XK-3 a couple months ago, the only live
gigs I have had with it were small jazz gigs where I
only needed the leslie to run the room. Last night,
however, was my first loud blues gig. I knew going
into it that there would not be a big enough p.a. to
support two mics and a monitor, so I had to figure out
something because the 147 is loud but can't run the
room.

My solution: run the 147 from the 11-pin and run a
line out from the 1/4" to my Carvin KB-1015.

The result: The best, loudest organ sound I have ever
experienced. I had plenty of headroom and the
combination of the real leslie and the simulated
leslie from the Carvin was amazing.

The guys in the band were freaking out at how great
the XK-3 sounded. Of course, the 147 didn't hurt
matters...but these guys had heard the B4 and the Vk-7
through the 147. They all said there was a marked
difference. The Xk-3 has presence and depth that the
others lacked.

I have 4 more "loud" gigs this week, and I am excited
about all of them! I have solved the "what if there
isn't enough P.A." conundrum.

(Plus, my whole rig, leslie and all, fits nicely in my
Explorer!)
