Hammond was not looking for this outcome. He is rolling in his grave. He
wanted a completely different musical America. This America would have been
subversive in his view. He was "used" by a higher power. He couldn't make a Leslie
speaker if he tried. He did not invent the scanner vibrato or the chorus by
himself. He made what he made and it was extremely important. It stood the test
of time physically and musically. I like his clocks, they still tick away in my
house. Don Leslie was a much nicer more approachable person. Bob Moog wins
the nice person award. He listens to his customers needs too. He was a lot more
forward thinking. But his items are very obvious in their sound, they stick
out to much sometimes. Hammond organs are everywhere because they fit so nicely
into most music.
Piano and Hammond may be the pinnacle.
