Subject:Re: Thoughts on the XK-3 Demos
Yeah a classic....like the original CX3? or VK1000? We're still basing opinions on a 15year old clone that has nothing to do with the clone we're talking about.

The only thing I can say is: the CX-3 is a fine instrument.
It's size is the size I was looking for, as well as the looks and
feel.
The sound, to me, is pretty good althought I know I would NEVER get
the Greeg Rolie sound from Soul Sacrifice. Once, I talked to him and
his was straight forward with his answer:"... on those days, we were
broken, our Leslie was broken as well..."and you guys know what
happened:that sound made history.
My previous one was the H-S XM-1 which had a terrible Leslie sim.
Obviously, If you add Speakeasy,Leslie, etc. it may sound fabulous
but...c'mon guys.I'm willing to have something sounding fine STRAIGHT
OUT OF THE BOX. I'm not the kind of guy that spends THOUSAND of $
just to get the exact sound.People (audience) is DEAF! And to MY
ears, it sounds pretty convincing. I think that, as the DX-7 and M1,
the CX-3 would become a classic by itself.
I don't see that with the XB-2 and the KX-2, maybe the new one can
get there, time will tell.
And you know what's funny (to me): a year ago I was gigging with a
Roland RS-9 (tweaked organs) through a H & L Rotosphere MKll and got
always positive comments during my gigs...Wow, you nailed the
sound,etc.
