Yes. I use a similar setup right now: BX-3 in Preamp mode to MIDI Solutions R8 (Relay x 8), which controls a solid-state Leslie motor control through two 1/4 phone plugs.

There's probably room inside the CX-3, but a) the connections would have to be hard-soldered to the CX-3 PC boards; b) there is no really good place to mount and connect the jacks for speed control; and c) I have no idea if there would be any kind of noise problems. The MIDI Solutions Relay modules, however, are very light and require no external power source, so I just use Velcro to hold my Router and Quadra Merge inside the same case that holds other items like power amps and such. I've never had one come loose.
