Subject:HAMM XK3 vs KORG CX3?
To anyone who's somehow tried the Hammond XK-3: how does it compare to the
Korg CX-3? From the photos I've seen of the organ, taken at NAMM, the
original-"esque" preset keys look cool and everything, but what's it like to play? I had
an XK-2 for 3 years (still have it; perfect condition, sitting in a closet in
its' original box since 11/02... never used outside my apartment... should
anyone in the NYC area be interested, I'll let it go for a little. Email me
directly if interested), but bought a CX-3; I won't go into all the improvements
that it has, making, I believe, the CX-3 light-years ahead of the XK-2; there
are just too many! But I'd like to know a little about Hammond's latest. One
BIG reason for my "going with" the CX-3 over the XK-2: the XK-2, when played
with its' vibrato AND Leslie sim both on, sounded just awful. Aside from how
amazingly close to a 122 Leslie I find this clone's sound to be, with eminently
tweakable functions... but I digress. Has Hammond improved, CORRECTED, this
vib/chorus-with-Leslie sim-turned-on situation? Thanks in advance - Adam
