The heavy part is the metal assembly consisting of the key combs,
switch stacks, key contacts, wire looms, drawbar tray, vibrato
switch, etc.
Did your weight include the metal key rail and spring, or was that
just the plastic?
If you are throwing all the above away, seems to me that you should
keep at least the key rails so that the key is hinged and sprung like
a real Hammond. Then you would have to fab some kind of key actuator
that provides the same resistance as the contact stack.
