Are we talking about the same thing???? You, or whoever started this thread, wanted to run their Vcombo in "split" mode, but wanted the Vcombo to control the organ sound and another keyboard to control the piano sound, and each keyboard to have the full use of its entire keybed. So, YES, if you set the split to one extreme end or the other of the VCOMBO and assign the other controller's Midi channel correctly, that "SPLIT" should allow the Vcombo to use say its organ sound across its entire keyboard (aside from the very top or very bottom) and the other controller for its piano sound across its entire length.

The A80 reference was indeed a reference to the oftentimes Quixotic nature of its programming path and logic.
