Subject:RE: MS KP-200S or 2 KT-80's or keep Roland KC-300's
I have been using a single KT80 for six months and I love it. I thought it
might be a practice/small gig only amp because of the power, but it turns
out I never turn it past half even in the loudest situations. I just bought
a second one used and I look forward to hearing it in a stereo x pattern.
I owned a KC500, which in theory is louder than the KC300. I found it to be
a very harsh sounding amp that would distort in a not very nice way at loud
volumes. I have not had the two next to each other, but I really don't
think the KT80 is any less loud at a *useful* level (non-distorting) than
the KC500. Totally subjective memory based opinion, but worth exactly two
pennies.
