I don't know, haven't tried it. If they're the Kobitones like the
Pro3tm's, added as an upgrade, or already in any of the rotary MS
gear - so far I've heard only a couple of complaints and "horrid
sound quality, loud or soft." There's a lot of 'em out there, so I

I think something as carefully designed and engineered as MS gear
would not make such a terrible choice of microphones and placement,
which leaves - as in flying: Pilot Error. In other words, the user's
settings must not have been right. My understanding is the Kobitones
are intended to be miked when the amp volume is LOUD, and miking is
still needed. So the mike feed from these sensitive mikes should be
fed into a PA at low volume, which should get the best results. I
listened to recorded files of, I think, the MS rackmount 147M horn
one of the members posted a link to, but could hear mainly
enclosed 'mechanical' noise, like wind rushing around a closed space,
versus horn sound - this wouldn't work live. The horn should be loud
enough that no mechanical noise is noticed, although it's still there
way in the background, for the mikes to be at their best input level
to a PA or recording setup - maybe a setting of only 1 or 2 on their
input channel(s). With no note being played, you should have to put
your ear next to a PA speaker and listen carefully to even barely
hear the horn whooshing around.
