Thanks for the clarification. I did go back and check the
hammond_zone archive, and managed to find the source of my
misunderstanding. There was a series of threads regarding Chops and
TG/Wire which discussed this, the pivotal post being pda's Message
#19980. Which explains the use of resistance as a means of additive
synthesis and the bonus crosstalk reduction it provides. I did not
realize the wire bundles referred to were intra-manual, not manual to
TG. There were still warnings about the quality of wiring used for
chops though, that could affect the sound.
I wish my electrical engineering syllabus had had a course like
EEB3-101 "Applied Engineering Circuits: Design and Analysis of the
Hammond B3" back in the day. :-)
