Subject:Re: Software clones--do you have to install usb-midi drivers every time you turn on the computer?

It's impossible to know the exact details of either your hardware or
software, but if the set up is correct, this will NOT happen. (It may be as
simple as how you shut it down. If you power off without saving (eg hitting
the button) it won't remember the gear. If you go something like
'Start/Shut down/OK' it will save your settings and probably retain the
drivers....)

There are a lot of 'tweaks' you can do to windows to ensure clean and fast
boot-ups (and remove a lot of un-necessary junk - eg networking etc. if you
are only using the PC as an organ...). If you don't want to go into this
space, take it to an expert and explain exactly what you want it to do. If
you find a 'nice' PC' dealer or friendly nerd they may have a fiddle while
you wait. (but of course it always depends on exactly what the problem
is....)

Sorry, I don't know anything about Macs.
