What type of action/playability do the lower preset keys have? That

be incredible if it had the ability to send midi to a module with 73
keys,
and then they operate as presets when in "organ" mode. Or do they
"click"
as on a B3. and have not midi function. Does anybody know? You would
only
have to take a little module to gigs to get some other sounds. I think
that
that ability would make it the best one trip from the car keyboard out
from
all of the options!

I agree about the C3 vibrato.. .I did not check the other vibrato
settings but will tomorrow. Hopefully it will be quieter at the Hammond
booth as there was this big guy sitting at the portable B3 playing his
guts out.. Oh my God, that was Joey D!
I was foolin around with the XK3 and Tony Monaco smiled at me... I told
him: "Hey, I'm a hack... Get over here and play this thing!".. He did,
and Joey joined in, and we had a wonderful impromptu jam session between
these kings of Hammonds! This is what makes NAMM so great!

I'll add a little. The xk-3 will retail for around $2195. The basic
sound was superb. This is a single contact keyboard. I'd have to play
it some more, but I kinda thought the c3 chorus was a little too
"warbly," i.e., too much vibrato. But the basic sound matches my a-100
on every drawbar setting I tried. It will play pedal input. Unlike the
new b3 and portable, the xk-3 will respond to midi in. I agree that the
HS "Leslie 21" thingy is OK but no comparison to the real 122 sitting
next to it. The keyboard action on all of these is kinda like an
electro, which is great for anyone who has never played a "Classic
Hammond." I absolutely understand what David is saying, but a lot of
younger players won't mind this action, and they might not miss the 10
contacts keyboard (that is on the portable b3 but not on the xk-3).
