I'd also the problem, most stands give a big gap between upper and lower
manual. Not really like the real thing.
The solution I've found was the K&M (http://www.k-m.de/E/index.html)
table stands of the PROline.
This product line is very sturdy and stably, but still very easy to fold
down.
Look at the stand + stacker at
http://www.k-m.de/D/Katalog/anzeige/produkte.asp?ID=422&spr=EN
(Don't know if they export out of Europe)
With this setup I have lower the Fatar SL-61 with upper the Korg CX-3.
The heavy back part of the CX-3 lies on the 2nd tier stacker, while the
front lies on the SL-61 cover, aligned like a B-3 (I don't need any MIDI
controls on the top of the SL-61).
This allows a minimal vertical distance between the two keybeds; and
exactly the same distance (horizontally) like a real console hammond.
Not to mention, that I fiddled the height of the stand to match the
height of a lower keyboard of a console :-)
Now, with the console-like controls of the Korg and this stand I really
got a very near approach to the ergonomics of a real Hammond.

Your clone double tier platform looks indeed very nice! :-( envious...)
