A Leslie or any instrument amplification/speaker system is *not* reproducing sound - it is part of the instrument *creating* a sound with a (hopefully) characteristic aural signature.
A hifi system is *reproducing* sound, not adding/subtracting/multiplying/subtracting anything - ideally.
We are talking abt 2 different purposes, and incomparable system design goals/priciples. Vintage *instrument* amplification are part of a tradition that many of us appreciate, and that's it. Like violin design from the 16xx's....
So what is "best" is dictated by the tradition. Changing history is hard to do...
