I wonder how close I would be to original Leslie tone, but more power, with one of Bob Schleicher's mods...

Biamped Leslie:

Original tube amp feeds upper Atlas PD60 (or similar) driver only, and controls speeds.
200-250 watt SS amp (built into mid compartment) feeds JBL higher powered woofer.
Bob's active crossover.
