I can see that. First, the speakeasy does its magic, which the cx3
simply lacks. As I said, the cx3 amp sim is another story. The pro3
rotating horn sounded, to me, better when I was within two feet.
Otherwise, it sounded merely as good as the cx3 rotating horn
simulation, which is excellent. Put those last two sentences
together, and I'm saying the pro3 is slightly better than the cx3 as
far as siulating the charactarsitics of a rotating horn. Without the
speakeasy, we would be at virtual tie so far to my ears, where you
would have a slight edge because of the advantage within 2 feet.

The CX3's rotating drum simulation (v2), however, is to me miles ahead
of the pro3's sim when played throught the same EON 15's. Thus, when
you again ignore for a minute the tube/overdrive advantages that the
Speakeasy gives you, I find the cx3 comes closest to replicating the
rotating horn and drum of a real Leslie. This applies to any sim I've
heard, including Electro, my beloved EVB3, and also Roland, B4, and
especially HS (XK2). Again, this does not mean the grind/overdrive
aspect, or the wooden cabinet aspect (EVB3 does these things
remarkebly well).

Since you have added to the Pro3t, a real Leslie rotor for low
frequencies, complete with a real Leslie wood cabinet, PLUS a
Speakeasy, I have no doubt that your Leslie sim is notably nicer than
the CX3 sim. But, if you compare 1) the dry pro3 with bottom
outputted to a pair of good keyboard amps or pa speakers (i.e. Mackie
or EON 15s) to: 2) the cx3 sim to the same amps/pa speakers in stereo,
I think you may feel as I do that the cx3 wins. At the very least,
the advantage of the pro3 would be awfully small, raising questions as
to whether it is worth the small gain (if any). At the very least,
I'd bet you could chalk up my contention to a legitimate difference of
opinion, rather than foaming at the mouth insanity!
