I notice there are glitches in MS specs between store sites. I think
some of this is early info, not updated as production got going. I
got the 'Pro-145B' ->must have been an 'A,' probably an early version
with an Eminence Alpha 12" 150 watt woofer. The woofer is a 250 watt
Beta 12" now. And there's no Contour control. The preamp controls
are: Gain to drive the input signal; weak signal = not much to work
with ->boost it first. Preamp Mode varies the load across the tube
plate from resistive to inductive, lots of tone and color variables.
Tube Bias is set to optimum at the factory with selected 12AX7EH's.
It can be fine-tweaked for a bit more/less of what you like, or swap
the tube for your favorite and tweak that. One tube besides the
12AX7 is recommended, anything else (?) you're on your own.
Go from preamp stage to Volume which works with how you've set up the
preamp stage. Wj
