Subject:OT: laptop hum

I need to know how to solve a hum problem on the audio out of my
compaq laptop with B4 at home. There is a subtle hiss/buzz when i
plug the monitor to
the phone pc jack. I don't know why the same connection doesn't do
any hum with my IBm laptop anb b4 installed that I use for live. I
know that is a ground problem. But, is
there a simple way to solve it?
