Iv'e been doing the same trick with a DBX mini pre for the past year
or so. Set the output level flat out on the DBX, and O/D gain to zero
and let the Speakeasy do the saturation work. The DBX is cheap, under
£100 and is small enough to fit in your pocket. CX3 treble and bass
to 12:00 and output level to 128 and turn up to full on the volumne
dial. My Leslie is set to 2/3 full volume and i use the Speakeasy
volume to control the overall volume. Works great.
