Subject:Re: HEADPHONES

I play my CX-3 very often through headphones... mine are a pair of Sony
Digital Reference (so what!) MDR-CD160's. I think they were under $50, 4 or 5 years
ago. I used to use 'em with a Hammond XK-2 'til I UPGRADED to the amazing
CX-3. Sorry to hear about yours breaking up. Do you use anything that boosts up
the organ's signal, that is, something connected (look out, heavy electronic
terminology a-comin') between the organ and the headphones, thereby making it,
err, louder? I find the volume available, between the main volume and
overdrive, to be a sufficient amount.

As a CX-3 player, what are some of your tweaks for the "rotary" (dig the fact
that the Leslie name appears nowhere, on organ or in manual) function? Being
somewhat lazy I haven't "written" into the organ any of my oft-used settings;
so every time I turn the organ on, it's about 1 minute of setting everything
up. But the "wait" is SO worth it! I've had my CX-3 since 11/02, which is about
a month after "Version 2" came out. MAN, do I love this organ! It's still
novel and eminently satisfying, every time I play. I've played/owned the XK2, the
XB2... I also own a Hammond M-102, which I run through a Leslie 760. But
since getting it, the CX-3 is THE one I always go for, about 98% of the time.

Anyway I know I haven't really been of any help, but I do enjoy conversing
with other CX-3ers. I hope you get your situation taken care of. That set of
'phones of yours... without knowing much about the different kinds, would you
call yours a high-end brand? I'm wondering if I could be getting even more out of
the CX-3 with a certain kind. If it's any help at all, I've never
experienced, with the CX-3 OR the XK-2, the problem you mentioned; and again, mine were
under (I think) $50. Best of luck with it, best wishes generally - Adam
