Bill,

The old BX3 is a respectable clone when played through a real Leslie or a
Motion Sound. I highly recommend that you get either a Leslie or a Motion
Sound and you will be very happy with the improvement in sound. As for the
best solution, the MS145 is the best all-in-one package, but fairly
expensive (about $1800 street price). The Pro3T/Low Pro is more like $1300
street.

Looks like the D-152 might have a value of about $1500, based on this eBay
auction that ended recently in the CA area:

I seriously doubt any dealer would do an even swap for your old Hammond and
a new Motion Sound. If you really don't want the Hammond, try selling it on
eBay!

Hope this helps.

Subject: [CWSG] Help!!I need advice and/or input

Hi all,
I'll try to make this as brief as possible. I have an old BX-3 played
through a guitar amp (ugh!!!) I am not in the position to buy
anything new or expensive at this time, but would like to get a
better sound. I also have a Hammond D-152 which sits at home and is
not for gigging. The Hammond is in pretty good shape, although the
cab is slightly sun-bleached, and the C/V scanner could use de-
magnetizing, or whatever it takes to eliminate occasional 'motor-
boating'. I'm seriously considering offering the Hammond as a trade
for either a MS ProT-3/Lo-Pro package, or (swoon faint thud) a MS
145. So, here is what I need help and advice on:

1) Does anyone have experience playing an old BX-3 through either the
Pro-T3/Lo-Pro or the MS 145? How does it sound?

2) Does either MS product have more benefits (sound-wise) than the
other? We are primarily a blues band playing in bars and clubs.

3) Does the D-152 equate, price-wise to either MS product? (aside
from pricing being what the market demands)

4) Am I p*ssing in the wind on this trade idea? Those in the SF Bay
Area might have a better idea of pricing on both the Hammond and MS
products.

Since I value the opinions of this group, any advice and/or direction
is greatly appreciated. If this request is beyond the scope of the
group, please feel free to advise privately.

Thanks,

Bill
