Subject:Re: OT Posts and the Group's Direction

Bruce is (as usual) right, and for those of us who belong to
multiple lists this can be a real problem. In addition to 'CWSG', I
also subscribe to 'NordElectro' and 'organ-ized' and I know that a
fair amount of you subscribe to all three. While it's inevitable
that there will be some crossposts across all three lists, my vote
is that posts to each list try to stay as close to the original
intent and charter of that list. For instance, if you want to post
about seeing Joey D. playing a CX-3 and whether or not he was using
the internal Leslie sim, it makes sense to post it here (CWSG). But
if you just want to comment on a specific song you heard Joey D.
perform the night before and what drawbar settings he was using,
then it seems to me that 'organ-ized' would be a better forum since
it's not specifically Clone related. However, if you have a post
about the differences between a CX-3 and an Electro, then it might
make sense to post to both CWSG and NordElectro, although my
preference would be to stagger the posts to see what kind of answers
I got from one list before I hit up the other one. I really enjoy
reading posts about unsung Hammond players whom I've either
forgotten about or I never knew (gives me somebody new to check
out), but now that we have 'organ-ized' (thanks Alan) there doesn't
seem to be any reason to clog up CWSG with non-Clone specific posts.
Given the amount of daily mail that these three lists have the
potential to generate, and not counting all the mail I get from the
other lists I also belong to and moderate, if everyone would try
make sure that they post to only the most appropriate list for their
subject matter, and also (VERY IMPORTANT)**make sure the Subject
Line for your post matches the subject matter of your post**, then
it will make sorting through the deluge of email most of us get on a
daily basis much more enjoyable.
