Subject:Electro, On and off topic...

So I had two Electro 73s delivered and returned, both dented and with
stuck keys. It's just as well. During the month of phoning, hassling,
and hopefully finally getting my refund, I read a lot of posts about
the Electro and it's "eccentricities" and decided I'm stickin' with
my Emu for now. Couldn't afford the Electro anyway; it was kind of an
impulse thing. It's a nice clone, and I did get to check it out with
headphones before I packed the first one back up. I liked the Leslie
sim, didn't like the piano, my FC7 pedal worked well with the
reversed tip and ring, liked the feel of the keys (the ones that
still worked), and the overall sound was good. Someday, who knows...?
Okay, since I got to read all your Grammy posts...
Sonny Rollins, a tenor saxophone GOD, received a Grammy lifetime
achievement award. But we didn't get to see him get it, let alone
hear him play. I heard him play on two occasions, years ago in Miami
I was close enough to get splattered by the saliva dripping out of
his mouthpiece. I didn't care, man, it was Sonny F**kin' Rollins!!
But they gave the him about a 20 second acknowledgement, then moved
on.
So I will definitely stray from my usual format and include some
Sonny Rollins on my show Saturday ( www.kser.org , 2:00 to 4:00 pm
Pacific time) because Sonny Rollins is not a 20 second space filler.
Whew! Man, I feel better.
