Subject:Careful who you do business with! - was vst intruments
Hi Michael
Assuming you are running Windows, make sure the daOrgan Demo is in the
VstPlugIns folder under the Emagic folder hierarchy (which, in turn,
is in c:\program files). Copy its .exe file (with the daOrgan icon)
from its current location into the VstPlugIns folder if it isn't
already there. Steffan's reply to your post will get you up and
running the rest of the way.
And yes, you can also TRY the EVB3 for 30 days and fall in love with
it. Unfortunately, you can no longer buy it. OK, IF you first buy a
MAC, THEN buy Logic Logic Pro 6 (pushing close to $1,000) you will get
a wonderful package that includes the latest version of the EVB3. You
will also trim your wallet substantially! You used to be able to buy
Emagic's software instruments as part of your Logic package (5 or
greater), but they seemed to have stolen that back from you. I liken
it to a $150/night luxury hotel enticing you to stay there with their
package of amenities. These amenities might include
available-at-extra-cost services like room service, dry cleaning, pay
per view movies. You chose that hotel because you wanted to use some
of those features at some point during your stay and have those
services charged to your account. Then, on the second night, you call
to order champagne (indeed, what fine champagne the EVB3 is!) from
room service, and they tell you that while they still have it in
stock, they changed their policy beginning last night to where only
"Club Pro 6" guests can get room service, or dry cleaning, or pay per
view movies. Seems to me like you've been had! Again, when you
bought Logic 5+, included was the right to buy authorization for the
embedded software instruments. Guess what, that has now been stripped
away. OK, maybe the legalese in the license agreement reserves their
right leave you hanging, yada yada weasel wiggle, but that is the
defacto long and short of it.
Regards
Doug (betrayed Emagic customer - but otherwise very happy EVB3 & EVD6
user)
