we've been thru this before on previous posts. i also opted for the VK8M
simply because Roland seemed to have the sound closest to a B for me and the
portability factor. I was at GC up and down Southern Cal and then when talking to a
keyboardist for WAR who was moonlighting at GC between gigs, even he agreed
the Roland had the sound and when he'd a/b the VK8 (not the M bec they didn't
have them in all the stores then) and the CX3 it was obvious. Still wish I
cudve sampled a Voce too but i couldn't find one to demo before going back
overseas. I use the 8M with an old Kawai Spectra KC10, a 61 note synth/controller
that was made to hang around your neck like a guitar, since I have a large
keyboard chest rack in my recording studio and not enough table room for anything
larger. It has pitch and mod wheels too but don't affect the 8M tho. Wonder if
HS is going to make a module of the XK3...hint hint...and waiting for
"omniscient brainiac" to get his Hammond/Fatar controller together.
