I have two questions:

1. when I go from slow to fast, the lower motor makes a sound. It's
hard to express phonetically, but I'll try: it goes "bud-de-de-de-de".
This also happens when I turn the Leslie off, so I assume it has
something to do with leaving slow as opposed to entering fast.

2. I've been playing with the volume controls on the Leslie, turning
it down so that I can play drive my Speakeasy harder. This is a real
pain to do with the solid-state Leslie. First of all, the volume
controls (input pads, actually), are trim-pots that require a
screwdriver. Second of all, my power amps (bass and treble) are of
different vintage and one can only be adjusted from the board side,
hole on the back panel doesn't go through. I want to replace both of
the trim-pots with real pots with knobs that can be adjusted from the
back. Has anyone done this? It seems very straight-forward, but those
re words I always regret!

3. Bonus question
Are there any rules of thumb for balancing the volumes of upper and
lower, other than personal taste?
