Subject:Multiple key contacts, playing technique
I was listening to Joey D on a song where he played "shake" octaves
in the RH, and the sound definitely did a decrecendo. This is a
common piano technique (Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, and the old stride
players) where you shake, or trill the octave and let off pressure to
get the sound fade-out effect. The last time I checked organs are not
touch sensitive :) ... and I don't think Joey backed off on the
expression pedal because there was comp and bass going on that didn't
fade out. I could be wrong, a victim of illusion, but is this
accomplished by having all those key contacts? (that apparently the
clones don't have).
Thanks,
Tim
