Subject:Electro Sim was XK3
Since everyone (including me) seems to love the Electro sim so much, I
wonder if the people at Clavia could ever sell it as a stand alone unit for
use with, let's say, the XK3 for situations where a real Leslie is not
feasible?

David and I are in full agreement on these points: Through the leslie, the
XK3 is the SH#T!!! NO 2 WAYS ABOUT IT. I still have one Hammond, and just
sold one a month ago, and both keyboards are different from each other...but
the XK3 is right at home with those.
Without a leslie, I take an Electro.

Good points. But I must impress upon the readers that the
XK3 sounds COMPLETELY different through a real Leslie. I
have one hooked up to a Leslie 2101 right now and it
sounds GREAT! The default keyclick is perfect for the real
Leslie.
I have had no problems with double triggering, although it
is true that the triggering is a bit shallow. The "feel"
of the keyboard is fine with me. All four of my B3's have
different feeling action, so I don't know how you can
judge authenticity regarding "feel"..
For those who are considering the XK3, I strongly suggest
that you also purchase the Leslie 2101 or a classic
Leslie. It makes a world of difference.

So I finally got a chance to play an XK-3 in a store. Here
are my
thoughts about the good and bad:
