Subject:The Mighty V5+
I have a V5+. I reviewed it when I got it several months ago. Perhaps my comments are in some kind of archive.
Anyway, I'm pretty positive on it. Percussion volume is fine. The overdrive kicks in pretty quickly. I don't know, I may like my VK-77's better. It's hard to say. It's actually hard to say because the V5+ has no expression function. None. It does have volume, but that's a different animal. I still have trouble judging the overdrive because of this. I have yet to construct the expression circuit Dave Amels created. This is actually what has stopped me from gigging with it. I did MIDI to my VK-77 and got the drawbars all hooked up correctly, so eventually I'll road test it.
Anyway, really good tone, vibrato and percussion, (key click has a bit of glitchy sound that occurs occasionally when dialed up high) so it's definitely a contender.

So any V5+ owners... I would love to hear from you. Hopefully there would
be no unpleasant surprises with the thing. Percussion volume is always an
issue with some leslies though. Good overdrive is nice ... I got great overdrive
on the VK7. How is the overdrive on the V5+???? Also....what type of volume
pedal do I need with this. I have a Roland EV5 expression pedal but I don't
know if that will work.
