In my opinion, yes. There have been quite a few comments written
regarding the XK-3 already, you might review those in addition to
reading any new ones. You can make the XK-3 sound like any B3 you
want with the tonewheel adjustments and other parameters available.
The tubes that came in mine provided great overdrive. I replaced
them with GE tubes that provide a different tone that I prefer. No
decrease in low frequencies, great overdrive when set at 75% to 100%
but from say 40% to 75% they warm up the tone and add something to
the sound. I've described it as they sing before they scream. In my
experimenting / tinkering, I found that Sovtek 12AX7LPS tubes really
scream, and provide some overdrive even with the knob turned all the
way down. Half the fun, at least for me, is the tinkering.

If you take the time, you could have a bank set for every style and
Hammond "sound" from Ice Skating music to Deep Purple, from the
Beach Boys / Surf Music to Santana, Jimmy Smith to Niacin, and so on.

You can't go wrong with the XK-3, and a lower manual and other
options are on the way.
