Subject:Is the XK3 that good?


Hi Guys,
I would like some opinions on the XK3.
A friend of mine in another part of the UK has just got an XK3 and is
so pleased with it he's over the moon about the sound.I value his
opinion very highly but would like some other input as we do have
a different taste in Hammond sounds.
I love the type of Hammond sound that Santana,Booker T etc produced.
Loads of overdrive and dirty."Gimme some Lovin" by Spencer Davis is
the sound I am after.Can you get this type of sound from an XK3
without a real Leslie?

I have only heard Demos of the keyboard but Joey D could make any
keyboard sound great.

I use N.I.'s B4 at the moment via a controller board, and think it
is not bad at all. But was never that happy with the Leslie sim on
VK7 I had a few years ago.
I should be able to afford changing to a clone keyboard early 2005.
We do not have that many outlets for the XK3 in the UK and they are
very expensive over here.
Would some of you guys that have been playing the XK3 for a while
give me your opinion on it. Hoping to hear from someone.
