Subject:Re: Sustain on XK3 and using the 100F pedal.
I ran a cable from the MIDI out through a merge box and into the IN2
of the XK-3. When I actuate the switch the merge box indicates a
midi signal went through it. I suspect that the signal is always a
cc64 message, but that the XK-3 does what it is set to do when it
receives a cc64. My Leslie 21 can be controlled via midi messages,
and it shows that the fast/slow code is cc64. If you want to use the
kick switch to control some event on another keyboard, my guess is
that setting it to respond to cc64 will work, but I don't have a way
to test it.
If you connect something to the effects send on the XK-3, you have
to have it go back in the receive or nothing will sound You can "mix
in" an additional signal by connecting something to the receive. I
don't know if this will help, but when the XK-3 is attached to a
Leslie via the 11 pin connector, the right 1/4" output is a clean
(non-digital Leslie) signal. I have my XK-3 connected to a Leslie 21
System via a Leslie cable and the left/mono output connected to a
Crate Amp and an Ampeg Jet 12.
