MAN YOU'RE GOOD!!!!!!! According to the August '04 Classic Rock Magazine, The Pigeons (the Fudge pre-Appice), the Hassles (Billy Joel's band) and The Vagrants (Leslie West) were on the same circuit. I had skimmed the article at 2am and just got done actually reading it.

I question that story. I don't recall any band on LI in that period
with two organ players. Billy Joel's first notable band was the
Hassles, which was the first time he played Hammond. I don't remember
Mark Stein's band before the Fudge. I DO remember that the Hassles,
the Fudge and the Vagrants were THE bands for aspiring rock
organists, once the Rascals had opened the door to Hammonds outside
of the big "show" bands.
