I know what you mean about the wimpy look. There's nothing quite like the
sense of power and importance one gets sitting behind a console or a
two-keyboard rack. My problem with the electro wasn't really one of output
hotness rather how the sound sat in the mix. Maybe thru a leslie it may be
better (ref: joe and tony) but thru the internal sim I just found that I had
to run it at a lower volume than I normally would with, say the v5 or xb3,
to minimise the nasty ear-damaging mid-range honk. The v5 just seems to be
evenly voiced and fat over the whole keyboard/drawbar range,.... maybe due
to more attention paid to individual harmonic levels for each note and the
tapering in the high end that Steffan was talking about.... I don't know,
Maybe Dave can shed some light on his trade secrets.
