G'day. I like their "Renaissance" album as well. Did you all know that " YOU KEEP ME HANGIN' ON " was recorded in one take only? And the current guy on Hammond is Bill Pascali. Nice player. Bill and I have been keeping in touch via e-mail. He sent me tickets to one of their gigs, but I don't like flying and couldn't afford the tickets to the U.S. anyway. I always was fascinated by the fact that DP and VF were influenced by each other. Their musical styles are poles apart, but I love 'em both to death.

Yeah, and apparently VFudge also gave Zeppelin their start here in the US as an opening act. And according to the story I just read, Mark Stein and Billy Joel were in a band together just prior to the Fudge!

A little known fact learned from my extensive research. Deep Purple used
to idolize VF early in their career. According to Ian Gillan, they used
to listen to them all the time while on tour.. Makes a lot of sense.

For someone just interested in getting into some Vanilla Fudge, which CD
would you recommend??????? I've heard a new live version of You Keep
Me Hanging On, but I believe Mark Stein is NOT the organist in the band
these days, although the guy is a Stein Devotee. Appice and Bogert are
in the band though....I've been hearing this version on XM radio a bit.
