Nice to hear from you again Mike! Hey...there is a movie about Ray Charles coming out this fall/winter starring Jamie Foxx. I saw some trailers for it, and I'm betting you'll be impressed. I want you to see it and tell me what you think, since you met and played with Ray.
Jamie played all the piano parts (wow!)...apparently he was a musician before a comedian and went to LA to become a music star, and took acting jobs on the side. (Cool huh? Most folks in LA are actor/waiters!) Anyway, Ray personally met with Jamie for a few weeks at the beginning of shooting, to help tutor him, and reports say that Ray gave Jamie the nod, that Jamie was on his game. Ray just hung out with him! Pretty cool huh?
Anyway, I saw a few clips, and from the little I saw, he has the Ray smile, the Ray side to side shimmy....it looks great, and preliminary reviews say this will be Foxx's breakout role. (He is great in "Collateral" by the way, with Tom Cruise....The BEST movie I have seen all year!)
Anyway....good to hear from you Mike.
