Yo OF.
I'm not so sure. You can pretty much sum up everyone's gripes and laudings,
and come up with a clear picture. Features that are continually debated are
generally borderline and not 100% convincing. Things that a clone does well
are never debated. I can have 100% confidence that the XK3 will sound and
feel authentic thru a leslie, but know also that the leslie sim, while
passable isn't as good as some and maybe C3 is a little deep.
I also knew before buying an electro, that it had an average acoustic piano
sample and velocity issues with the pianos (thankfully minimised by the 2.1
upgrade) and a debated organ sound and feel .... after playing it for a
while I concur with these assessments (yes,.. I know, I should have listened
to you! :-) , I'll add my 2 bobs worth that the leslie is debatable too. ...
too much amplitude modulation (choppy) in the mid frequencies. My
assessment of the electro is that it is a 100% compromise keyboard... doing
most things quite well but not by any stretch nailing them.
I suppose what I'm saying is that I find the balance of all the arguments to
be accurate assessments. One of my favourite quotes is that no-one ever
debates whether the sun will come up in the morning.
