Mitch,

I am not sure what MS products you are referring to when you say they
always sound shrill, but I have both a KBRM and a MS Pro-145. The
KBRM does sounds shrill (I think due to a smaller volume for the horn
enclosure
and perhaps the horn itself). The MS Pro-145 IMHO does not sound shrill at
all.
Also, with the new Black-V horn I think it sounds more 122 like. However,
with
the many settings I can vary it to sound very close to a Leslie 122 or a
147. And
I can get those special sounds (i.e., the growl and scream) at low and high
volume
levels.

The one downfall of the Pro-145 is that it does not have as strong a bass
response
due to its size. However, it is still quite good. I may upgrade the bass
speaker in my
145 (there is a recommendation on MS site) to add some more bass.

Sorry for rambling, the point of my message is simply that the MS Pro-145
does not
sound shrill - when it screams it is a throaty scream not a shrill scream.
