Hi Clonerz,
Though nobody has posted about it, I am spying on you and can see
that there have been 97 listens to the tunes just today-- very
unusual,
thank you!
Re the silly old tune "Fatman," it seems to be the most popular tune
for download, prob. because of the title. So I though I'd post and
apologize for the interrupted sound on that one. That session was
taken from an old radio show and the station was having real
problems that day. "The Same," from the same session, is probably a
more serious tune and doesn't have many of those audio problems,
although "Fatman" is notable for Dan's extended use of the
theoretically-forbidden 11th-chord containing a major third.
(Something that was argued-about extensively on The Hamster List.)
The lyrics were altered for broadcast-- it makes more sense in the
original form: "Fat man for ya baby, Can't get enough of your
pork!" (rhymes with "better get back to New York"). Dan's bro Tim
changed "pork" to "stuff" for the radio.
Probably the most amazing solo organ cut was recorded on my C-3 a
few years ago, an impromptu performance: the medley "Midnight
Flite/Fleetwood Song/You Are On My Mind. It goes from drummerless
reggae to funk to a ballad.
