Subject:Re: So how many have switched to the XK3? - Shrill High End Demon

I will amend my statement by saying that I have never unplugged my Speakeasys since buying them. My Electro and XK3 both go through them, whether being played through my leslies or my Pro 145. The times I have gone direct with no Speakeasy I have been playing at less than "RAWK" volumes, and even with in-ears, did not feel shrillness.

It sure does. But the Speakeasy took care of it.

Again, the XK3 has the best overall balance of tonality of all the
clones. However, it is still a digital instrument. And even though it
does have the tubes, they are mostly for effect and do not cure the
digital shrillness. The Speakeasy is still a must when playing an XK3
(IMHO)...

Big question for me is does it suffer from the dreaded
high end shrill demon as all clones played at high
volume do?
