Let's not forget Myron Floren the accordian player with the wavy hair. Jo Ann Castle WAS the best part of that show. They were all good but they didn't ROCK! Gimme Shindig and Hullabaloo or Loyd Thaxton or American Bandstand!!

You are referring to Jo Ann Castle. She is a great ragtime/boogie piano player. I was also forced to watch that show growing up and thought it was sooo corny, but now it's kind of camp to watch the reruns.

She is phenomenal though. They had a Thomas organ guy too but I remember him being pretty schmaltzy.

Speaking of size mattering.... There used to be this blonde gal on
Lawrence Welk who played Honky Tonk piano. Man, I'd put her up against anyone
speed-wise, size-wise, or accuracy-wise. Was basically forced to watch that show
but began looking forward to it in hopes she would be on that night. OHF Bob
