Subject:Advice Sought From Group
Hello,
I am mainly a lurker to this board, but have appreciated the help
I have received in the past from group members regarding technology
issues (ie. Need of Midi Merger to use Micro B in multiple midi
mode). I am now asking for the group to offer advice on two different
fronts:
First, other options other than the Speakeasy tube preamps, are
members using to achieve similar warmth and crunch ( a la Jon Lord)
with their clones? The Speakeasy tube preamps sound wonderful, but
are a little bit out of my spending money range. I currently have
only a Mirco B and a Spin 1 going into an old KB 300 amp.
Secondly, I am a big jazz organ fan, and would really like to make
this an aspect of my playing, but currently do not own any bass
pedals. I am looking for advice as what would be a reasonable way to
begin, considering cost issues. Would a 13 note board be enough, or
should I only try to obtain a 25 note pedal board? What are others
using?
I am sorry if this has been covered before, but I did not have much
luck finding this inoformation searching the archives.
You may reply to me at squired70@yahoo.com or to the list if you
think others would benefit.
Thanks in advance,
Bill Whittaker
